This 1966 Fastback has undergone our full nut and bolt rotisserie restoration and is now a replica of the famous Shelby GT350H. This was the first and only year that Shelby produced 1000 cars for the Hertz “Rent a Racer” initiative. The first 100 cars were supplied with a manual transmission however so many cars were returned with burnt out and broken clutches that subsequent cars were supplied with a C4 auto. This stunning car has been finished in correct Raven Black (Dupont) paint with Gold LeMans Stripes. The new black interior is complemented with a tribute Shelby dash mounted tachometer and Mota-Lita steering wheel. With a fully rebuilt and balanced high performance engine, you will understand why America couldn’t get enough of these weekend racers.

Engine

Original 289 Windsor small block V8 engine fully rebuilt and designed to run on unleaded petrol. New pistons, hydraulic camshaft and double row timing chain. A fully rotating balance has also been completed. The cylinder heads are CNC Aluminum units, with oversized inlet and exhaust valves. It has a four barrel manifold matched up to a Holley carburetor and a MSD Electronic CDI ignition unit. Tri Y headers are connected to a new 2 1/4" performance exhaust system.

Fully rebuilt T5 manual transmission.

Transmission

Brand new T5 Tremek 5 Speed Box with a short throw shifter and a 10.5" Zoom Performance clutch.

Brakes

New power assisted Ford front disc brakes with new original sized rotors and 4 piston calipers. Rebuilt rear drum brakes with new wheel cylinders.

Suspension

New front coils and new rear leaf springs. New Koni shockers all round along with a 1 1/8'' front sway bar and a 3/4'' rear sway bar for improved handling.

Wheel and Tyres

Period correct 15 x 7 Magnum 500 wheels front and rear fitted with white lettered BF Goodrich 225 x 60 x 15 radial tires.
